Will Austin-Vautier is counsel in Ogier's Channel Islands Local Legal Services team. An employment law specialist, Will's practice extends to discrimination, data protection, regulatory (such as housing and work controls), employment relations, and general commercial expertise. Will has acted for some of the Channel Islands' largest private sector employers, senior finance industry executives, entrepreneurs, and the family offices of ultra-high net worth individuals.
Will is a Jersey Advocate in Ogier's Local Legal Services team. Will joined Ogier in October 2018 from another offshore law firm, where he was the principal adviser on employment law (and related) matters.
Will advises on the full spectrum of contentious and non-contentious matters within the employment sphere – from business start-ups, M&As and organisational change, to workforce management, trade union issues and contractual disputes. In addition to employment law, Will's practice includes discrimination, data protection, housing and work regulation, and general commercial matters.
Will is also Secretary of the Jersey Branch of the Employment Lawyers' Association. He is a contributor to bodies such as the Employment Forum and previously participated in a working group convened by Jersey's government to consider data protection law changes in advance of the inception of The General Data Protection Regulation in May 2018. He was also co-adviser to the appellant in Jersey's first employment case to be heard by the Jersey Court of Appeal.
