Thomas Barnes

Thomas is responsible for the strategic oversight and direction of Ogier Global's existing private wealth and corporate offering in Guernsey as its Managing Director. Thomas leads the client relationship management in Guernsey, ongoing business development initiatives and also oversees the day-to-day management of a focused team of respected administration professionals, who are experienced in administering complex and more straightforward solutions in partnership with clients and their advisors.

Background and experience

Thomas has more than 20 years of experience within the Guernsey fiduciary sector, establishing and managing wealth management structures and relationships across various asset classes for high-net-worth individuals, their families, corporates and institutional clients.

Prior to joining Ogier Global, Thomas held the position of Managing Director of a Governance Services firm in Guernsey since its establishment in 2014. Prior to that, Thomas held a senior role with a leading international bank which also involved fiduciary relationship management, as well as business operational and employee matters, for its Fiduciary team in Guernsey.

Thomas acted as a director of various client entities, including complex private wealth structures, large commercial and residential real estate investment vehicles.

Thomas joined Ogier Global at the start of 2023, tasked with establishing the Corporate and Fiduciary Services business in Guernsey and acting as Managing Director. Ogier Global provides corporate and fiduciary administration services to global institutional clients and ultra high net worth individuals and their families.

Thomas is a graduate of the University of Bournemouth having completed a Master's Degree in Corporate Governance (MSc) through Guernsey's GTA University Centre. Thomas is a qualified trust and estate practitioner (TEP) having obtained the Diploma in International Trust Management (Dip ITM) through STEP: The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners. Thomas is also a member of the Institute of Directors (MIOD) and also hold chartered membership as an Associate (ACG) of ICSA: The Chartered Governance Institute.
