Sophie Treanor

Sophie is an experienced solicitor who advises on all aspects of domestic and cross-border debt finance transactions. Sophie acts for both borrowers and lenders on a wide range of financing transactions, with particular expertise in leveraged, fund and real estate finance matters.

Background and experience

Prior to joining Ogier's banking and finance team in Jersey, Sophie was an associate in the banking and finance department at a silver circle London law firm.

Since joining the banking team in Jersey, Sophie has advised on a broad spectrum of finance matters ranging from a recent £130m green loan facility to fund a major student homes development in the UK, to the impact on a large fund borrower of the US mid-range banking crisis.

Sophie studied International History at the London School of Economics and Political Sciences before completing her GDL and LPC qualifications in London.

She is also the co-author of "Umbrella facilities: Pros and cons for a sponsor", which was published in the Global Legal Insights Fund Finance Guide 2021.
