Background and experience
Romauld’s practice involves an array of insolvency and restructuring matters in the BVI. He is currently acting for the joint liquidators in the ongoing cross-border liquidation of Three Arrows Capital Ltd, a cryptocurrency hedge fund previously valued at over US$3bn. He has also acted in the cross-border restructuring of the Constellation Group which saw six BVI companies placed into "light touch" provisional liquidation for this purpose. He has experience in a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including shareholder disputes and contractual claims, including those with cryptocurrency elements.
Before joining Ogier, Romauld had experience as legal counsel in an Oxford-based medical technology start-up company. He then worked as an associate attorney in a leading law firm in Trinidad and Tobago, where he was involved in contentious client work in civil litigation and public / constitutional law. He provided integral work on matters before all tiers of the justice system, including the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council.
Romauld is a law graduate of Queen Mary University of London and later completed the Bachelor of Civil Law (BCL) at the University of Oxford.
