Maddalena Bonamini Leitner

Maddalena is an associate in Ogier's Investment Funds team based in Luxembourg. She has experience advising on a broad range of matters involving asset management with a particular interest in investment fund set up.

Background and experience

Prior to joining Ogier, Maddalena worked as an in-house counsel for Flossbach von Storch Invest SA in Luxembourg, one of the biggest independent asset management firms in Europe.  Her international career has also included working as an assistant professor and a lecturer at the Institute of Italian Law at the University of Innsbruck (Austria).

In 2013 Maddalena was awarded the Austrian academic title of “Magistra iuris” (Law degree) by the University of Innsbruck. Her title has been recognised as “Dottoressa in giurisprudenza” in Italy (University of Padova). In 2022, she achieved (cum laude) a second-level master’s degree in financial markets regulation from the LUISS Guido Carli University, School of Law. Her thesis on the Raiffeisen Südtirol institutional protection scheme (IPS) was published in the scientific journal Rivista trimestrale di diritto dell’economia.

In 2023 Maddalena co-founded the first English speaking Soroptimist club in Luxembourg, Luxembourg - Gëlle Fra,  a global volunteer movement focused on transforming the lives of women and girls, and was appointed as secretary within its board. She has also been an active member of CISV International Building global friendship for 15 years.

Maddalena is fluent in English, German and Italian, and can also speak basic French.
