Laura O'Byrne

Laura is a senior associate in Ogier's Corporate team in the Cayman Islands. She is involved in a broad range of private and public M&A transactions, SPAC IPOs, equity capital markets, joint venture arrangements, inbound and outbound investments, corporate advisory, corporate restructuring and commercial transactions as well as investment fund formation, regulation, governance, restructuring and terminations. Laura is also a member of Ogier's multi-disciplinary Private Equity team and advises investment funds and other clients on a range of structuring, capital raising, financing, transactional and regulatory matters. 

Background and experience

Before joining Ogier in 2021, Laura worked with William Fry’s Corporate team in Dublin. During that time her work consisted primarily of transactional corporate engagements, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital investment transactions, private equity fund formation and corporate restructurings. A graduate of Economics from Trinity College, Dublin, Laura qualified as a solicitor in both Ireland and England and Wales in 2018 and the Cayman Islands in 2021. 

Laura is a member of 100 Women in Finance and the Cayman Islands Legal Practitioners Association.
