Dennis Li 李景顺

Dennis is a partner in Ogier's Hong Kong office with a focus on fund formation, fund regulation and virtual assets. He advises investment managers and financial institutions – alongside their respective onshore counsel – throughout the entire lifecycle of their fund structures, including formation, downstream investments and divestments, ongoing maintenance and regulatory compliance, restructuring to dissolution. He has set up a diverse range of funds for clients over the years, including hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds and more recently, cryptocurrency, virtual assets and tokenised funds.

Dennis also advises on structuring for token issuance, formation of decentralised autonomous organisations, tokenisation, registration and licensing requirements and other general regulatory compliance obligations and corporate matters in the fast-evolving virtual asset landscape in the Cayman Islands and the BVI.

Background and experience

Before joining Ogier in 2024, Dennis worked for another offshore law firm, where he had experience advising clients on a broad range of transactions, including fund formation, corporate transactions, regulatory compliance and virtual assets-related matters. 

Dennis also had in-house experience at CCB International (Holdings) Limited, the investment banking arm of China Construction Bank, and at Huobi Technology Holdings Limited, a leading digital assets company. Dennis trained to be a lawyer at Simmons & Simmons in Hong Kong and completed a secondment at Credit Suisse during his traineeship.

Dennis obtained his Juris Doctor and Postgraduate Certificate in Laws from the University of Hong Kong.

Dennis speaks fluent English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
