Two senior lawyers join Ogier's growing Luxembourg funds and corporate team

Ogier has announced the appointment of two senior lawyers to its Luxembourg team, which has grown by 15 in the past six months.

Practice Partner in Luxembourg, said the appointments of Hélène Arvis and Walid Sharara demonstrated the focus of the international law firm on its Luxembourg office, a full-service business law team acting for leading investment fund managers, banks, corporate and institutional clients.

"We are seeing strong growth in a number of areas in Luxembourg – including in private equity and real estate, with an increasing focus on regulatory matters – and these appointments further deepen our existing bench strength of dynamic, multi-lingual, internationally experienced Luxembourg advocates who combine specialist Luxembourg expertise with international service delivery to global clients, based largely in North America, China and the UK as well as continental Europe."

Hélène Arvis, counsel, is a Luxembourg lawyer with more than a decade's experience in other international law firms, specialising in corporate and commercial law. Hélène advises businesses ranging from major private equity firms, investment funds and real estate investment managers, to smaller investment houses, Luxembourg and other European entrepreneurs. She advises on all aspects of corporate and commercial law, including the establishment of cross-border investment structures in Luxembourg, group restructurings, and cross-border M&A and private equity real estate transactions.

Walid Sharara, managing associate, advises on the establishment, structuring, and day-to-day operation of both regulated and non-regulated Luxembourg investment funds. Walid advises domestic and international clients on the regulatory landscape of the funds industry in Luxembourg and related corporate governance matters. His practice focuses on the structuring and formation of hedge funds, credit funds and private equity funds with investment strategies across a wide variety of industry sectors and across the capital stack.

The recruitment follows the promotion to Ogier's partnership of investment funds lawyer Anne-Gaëlle Delabye, and the arrival of new tax partner William Jean-Baptiste earlier this year.
