Two new offshore disputes partners for Ogier in Hong Kong and Guernsey

Ogier has appointed two new partners, Sandie Lyne and Michael Snape, to meet sustained demand in its Dispute Resolution and Restructuring and Corporate Recovery services.

The firm has seen a 16% growth in the partnership in 2020, and a 10% headcount growth in the same period.

Ogier's Global head of Dispute Resolution, Rachael Reynolds, said: "We are delighted that Sandie and Michael, both highly experienced advocates who have developed their careers with Ogier, have joined the partnership. Michael and Sandie are both Dispute Resolution and Restructuring and Corporate Recovery specialists, and their promotion illustrates Ogier's strength in offshore disputes, restructuring and insolvency."

Sandie Lyne joins the partnership in Guernsey. Sandie, who joined Ogier in 2014, is a Guernsey Advocate with extensive experience in commercial and financial dispute resolution, especially contentious trusts, restructuring, insolvency, and regulatory matters. She regularly advises in connection with complex and high value international matters with multi-jurisdictional elements, including acting on the restructuring of Ocean Rig, one of the highest value restructurings on record, during a secondment to Ogier's Cayman office.

Michael Snape becomes a partner in Ogier's Hong Kong team. Michael, who joined Ogier in 2018, specialises in complex cross-border commercial litigation, shareholders’ disputes and contentious insolvency, with a focus on Cayman-domiciled companies listed on the SEHK that operate in the PRC. He has particular expertise in share valuation disputes, having advised on many of the leading cases before the Cayman Islands’ courts. Michael is also a member of Ogier's global Restructuring and Corporate Recovery team.
