Ogier in the BVI has announced the promotion of three senior lawyers in its Corporate and Dispute Resolution teams.
Practice partner Ray Wearmouth said the promotions recognised the contribution of three of the firm's rising stars in the BVI, a team which was recently described by the Legal 500 Caribbean as "a tight, well-run group of clever, hardworking lawyers".
Nicholas Brookes has been promoted to managing associate. A barrister with experience in a wide range of high value commercial litigation cases, and First Vice President of the BVI Bar Association, over the past five years Nick has appeared as a sole advocate in a number of well-known BVI cases. He has particular expertise in contentious trust litigation including recent success in the Privy Council. He is recommended in Legal 500 for BVI Dispute Resolution.
Rebecca Clark has been promoted to managing associate. Rebecca is a corporate and finance lawyer with particular expertise in cross border mergers and acquisitions. She has worked on a number of the BVI's largest transactions over the past few years and has recently played a major role in Ogier's restructuring practice where she has led clients through some of the most complicated elements of various global restructurings in tandem with the world's leading insolvency teams. Her work has been recognised by Legal 500 and IFLR 1000, with clients saying Rebecca is 'responsive and knowledgable'.
Ewelina Clyde-Smith has been promoted to senior associate. Ewelina is a commercial litigator with a broad range of domestic and international experience. An experienced solicitor-advocate, over the past three years Ewelina has appeared in Court on a variety of cases as well as being involved as a key member of the legal team in many of the largest BVI litigation matters. Ewelina is praised by clients for her hard work and tenacity.
