Ogier's "truly remarkable" Jersey team maintains top tier rankings across six practice areas

Ogier's team in Jersey has ranked top tier once again across all its key practice areas in the Chambers UK 2025 guide. The firm retained Band 1 ranking across corporate and finance, dispute resolution, employment, investment funds, property and trusts. 

The guide features 28 individually ranked lawyers across these teams, an increase on last year as they add more 'up and coming' and 'associate to watch' practitioners to the list. 

Practice partner Raulin Amy said: "Securing top-tier rankings once again, alongside the addition of new, promising talent to our Jersey team, illustrates the strength and depth of our expertise. Ogier’s Corporate and Finance teams in Jersey have been described as "highly sophisticated in terms of their quick understanding of complex cross-border matters". Ranked Finance partner Katrina Edge is "very knowledgeable and pragmatic," while partner Bruce MacNeil is "responsive, efficient and excellent at getting the deal done"

Ranked partners in the Corporate team include Raulin Amy, "a very longstanding and super experienced operator", Matthew Shaxson, Richard Daggett, James Fox and Simon Dinning, who moves up and is described as "outstanding, smart and exactly who you want in your corner"

Ogier’s Dispute Resolution team in Jersey is recognised for its sophistication as clients describe them as "a large international team with a boutique feel". Recognised in the guide as an eminent practitioner is global managing partner Edward Mackereth. Nick Williams is described as "an outstanding lawyer and brilliant advocate". Damian Evans and Oliver Passmore are recognised as notable practitioners alongside "up and coming" partner James Angus whose "written work is exceptionally considered and well written". New for this year's rankings is "Associate to watch" Matthew Davies, described as "very proactive and always has a good grasp of where things are in terms of shaping the advice"

The Employment team's "ability to handle complex matters is truly remarkable", says the guide. Helen Ruelle "is the first person I call for advice on employment matters", and "up and coming" Will Austin-Vautier is praised for being "a highly skilled technical lawyer who is incredibly approachable, supportive and commercial"

Ogier's Investment Funds team in Jersey have "a great ability to think outside the box". Notable practitioners include Emily Haithwaite and Sophie Reguengo, "a very strong and commercial lawyer". Other notable practitioners include the "thoughtful and creative" Niamh Lalor and "associate to watch" Alexandra O'Grady, with her "strong technical and soft skills"

The Property team is recognised for their ability to "handle complex matters professionally", with a "great depth of knowledge". Ranked lawyers from the team include Chris Renouf, Katharine Marshall, Sarah Parish, who is praised for being "on point every single time", and Jonathan Hughes, whose "commercial awareness really stands out"

Ogier’s Jersey Trusts team is "the preeminent offshore law firm" who are "well placed to advise on matters touching multiple jurisdictions". Ranked lawyers from the team include Josephine Howe, James Campbell, who is praised for being “simply excellent. He is commercial, astute and ensures he and his team deliver top quality advice each and every time. He's one of the standout private client lawyers on Jersey”. Katherine Neal, who clients recognise as "very slick, very collaborative and excellent at drafting" and Steve Meiklejohn. This year, Henry Wickham whose "strong technical skills with a commercial lens result in highly relevant pragmatic advice" joins the directory as an "up and coming" practitioner.
