Music in Action (Jersey Charity No 308) is delighted to announce that Ogier is supporting the opening up of music education to approximately 1,400 children in Jersey. through its sponsorship of the event ‘Jersey Sings!’

James Mews, Chairman of Music in Action said “We are so pleased that Jersey Sings! is returning for its third year.  This project offers the young performers the opportunity to develop not just in music, but in essential life skills such as team work and communication.  Research has shown that singing helps children’s creativity, language and brain development as well as personal and social development.  We are so grateful to Ogier for supporting the event and for the commitment and enthusiasm of the schools and teachers and we look forward to working with everyone to ensure they have the necessary resources and support to ensure the Jersey Sings! experience delivers a positive impact for all involved”.

Kate Kirk, Head of Marketing at Ogier said "Education is at the core of our Corporate Social Responsibility programme and we are very pleased to be able to support an initiative that educates so many children not only musically but in a range of skills, which will be important throughout their lives.”

Jersey Sings! is presented working in partnership with the Jersey Music Service.  Returning for a third year Fort Regent will be transformed into a mini arena and 1,400 singing stars from 28 schools will present a new show with a great selection of songs and medleys which will appeal to all generations. In this Armistice centenary year the children will also be performing a World War 1 medley.

Directed by David Lawrence, this fabulous choir will be supported by the talented seven-piece Jersey Sings! rock band and will include showcase performances from international stars Tom Billington and Ebony Buckle. Jersey Sings! is about celebrating everyone’s individual achievements. Learning  new songs, thousands of words and some complex harmonies and moveswill be no mean feat for these young performers.
