Ogier has donated £3,600 to Jersey Hospice Care to support their emotional support and bereavement service.

Ogier's donation will enable 20 individuals to access counselling at Hospice. This support is an opportunity to talk in confidence about the impact of bereavement and focuses on managing grief.

"Every loss is very personal and no two people experience loss in the same way," said managing associate and CSR committee member, Sarah Parish. "We're honoured to contribute to this vital service offered by Jersey Hospice Care, supporting islanders experiencing and managing grief. Making a meaningful difference to people's lives and empowering them to thrive is a key CSR focus at Ogier."

Jersey Hospice Care's Community Bereavement Service is available to adults and children of all ages who need support while coming to terms with the death of a loved one.

Fiona, the daughter of a recent patient of Jersey Hospice Care, said: "When my dad passed away, I used the services of the Jersey Hospice bereavement team and that was invaluable to me. It gave me the tools to carry on with everyday life. If it wasn't for the bereavement counselling, I wouldn't have been able to go back to work or get on with day-to-day tasks. I feel very grateful to have been able to use those services."

Over the past year, Jersey Hospice Care has supported nearly 800 patients and their families. Whether that's onsite in their In Patient Unit, in the community looking after patients at home, helping families with bereavement support or through their range of other services.

"The services we provide are given free of charge to our patients and their loved ones, and that is why we couldn't do what we do without the generosity of others," said Cheri Strudwick, Jersey Hospice Care's Director of Income Generation and Marketing. "We are grateful for the support offered by Ogier which will make a huge difference to islanders dealing with their grief."
