Ogier nominated as Asian Offshore Law Firm of the Year

Ogier is an Offshore Law Firm of the Year finalist in the Asian Legal Business Hong Kong Law Awards 2017.

Celebrating its tenth anniversary in Hong Kong this year, Ogier also advised one of the awards' major Debt Market Deals of the Year, namely China Southern Power's Senior Guaranteed Note Offering.

Ogier's Hong Kong practice partner Nicholas Plowman, who established Ogier's Hong Kong office in early 2007 noted: "At a time when Ogier's strategic growth in the region continues to go from strength to strength, this recognition reflects the dedication and expertise of the entire Hong Kong legal team.

"Our investment funds team in Asia is widely recognised among the leaders in its field and we have seen really positive growth in demand for our dispute resolution services, which cover BVI and Cayman law delivered by some of the most experienced practitioners in the region."

Several members of the team have also recently been recognised for their work in the past year. Nicholas Plowman and Ogier's Asian Head of Banking and Finance, Anthony Oakes, were both named in Asian Legal Business' top ten offshore lawyers in May (both appearing on the list for the second year in a row), and the same publisher named fellow partner Kate Hodson as one of the 40 top lawyers under the age of 40 in Asia.

The Asian Legal Business Law Awards 2017 are in their 16^th year and recognise excellence in the Hong Kong legal profession across 45 categories covering firms, individual lawyers and deals. Submissions are reviewed by a research team before the winners are selected by an independent judging panel of 30 senior figures from the legal industry. The winners will be named on 8 September.
