Ogier is proud to support NSPCC Jersey, donating £8,400 to help children and young children who have experienced sexual abuse.

The valuable donation will be put towards the 'Letting The Future In' programme, a therapeutic service which supports children and young people aged between four and 17 who have experienced sexual abuse. The programme helps them recover from the impact this abuse has had on them and rebuild their lives. The donation will enable 10 local children to benefit from the service.

Child sexual abuse can have a devastating and long-last impact on victims, affecting their lives, their relationships and influencing their development. NSPCC Jersey has run 'Letting The Future In' for five years, helping almost 100 children and their families across the island.

The programme initially involves four assessment sessions with the child or young person and two sessions with the parent or carer. Following that assessment, if it is agreed the service would be beneficial, the child or young person can receive up to 24 sessions while the parents and carers will receive between six and eight sessions.

Nicola Carroll, Ogier's Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, said: "The 'Letting The Future In' programme is a ground-breaking service, offering children and young people one-to-one support in a safe space with trained practitioners to aid recovery. Ogier is proud to contribute to this invaluable service, directly supporting 10 islanders affected by sexual abuse and helping them rebuild their lives."

'Letting The Future In' takes a holistic approach to the impact of sexual abuse and sexual harm. While it considers the trauma itself, it also addresses the wider impact that abuse can have on children, young people, and their families.

In addition to the donation, Ogier employees completed the 'Listen Up, Speak Up' workshop. As part of the session, the team learnt about safeguarding and how to help protect children from abuse and neglect.

Henry Street, NSPCC Jersey Supporter Fundraising Manager, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Ogier for this donation. Their support will allow us to help more children and young people in Jersey whose lives have been impacted by sexual abuse.

"NSPCC Jersey relies on donations from organisations, such as Ogier, so we can continue to deliver services to help keep all our children safe."
