Cayman Islands, Dubai

Ogier's team in Dubai has further strengthened its expertise in Cayman Islands investment funds with the relocation of Dominic Athwal.

Dominic advises hedge funds, private equity funds, asset managers, sponsors and family offices on the establishment, regulation, corporate governance and ongoing operation of Cayman Islands domiciled investment funds, as well as the establishment of venture capital and other funding structures based in Cayman.

As well as relocating to Ogier's Dubai office, which opened in November 2023, Dominic has also been promoted from senior associate to counsel.

Dominic: "I am excited to be joining the team in Dubai. There is extensive funds work between the Cayman Islands and the Middle East and I look forward to contributing to Ogier's expertise in those transactions. I am grateful to Ogier for supporting me in furthering my career."

Practice partner in Dubai David Welford said: "We are delighted that Dominic has relocated to boost the funds expertise in our team. The variety of expertise in services available in our newest office is growing rapidly and Dominic can advise on the full life cycle of open-ended and closed-ended funds domiciled in the Cayman Islands."

Managing associate Ridhiima Kapoor also relocated to Dubai earlier this year to add Cayman transactional legal expertise to its team.

Ogier's provides a full service to clients in the region, offering legal, corporate services and regulatory consulting from its new location in the Dubai International Finance Centre. You can learn more about our work in Dubai on our location page.
