Ogier’s Cayman Islands office has once again been recognised as a leading firm in the Legal 500 Caribbean rankings, with 39 individuals highlighted across eight core service lines.

Cayman Practice Partner, James Bergstrom said: "It's fantastic to see the hard work and dedication of Ogier's junior team members recognised alongside the partners. The fact that we have so many lawyers ranked across several practice areas shows not only the depth of expertise at Ogier, but also our commitment to true collaboration. Congratulations to the whole team."

Ogier's expert Investment Funds team is described as "one of the strongest in the Cayman Islands, providing a top-tier level of service with a commercial approach and superb technical insights." In particular, the team is praised for its ability to handle complex deals on a daily basis, adapting "incredibly fast" to changes in their client's business due to economic or legal factors.

Thirteen members of the team are recognised within the guide, including leading associates Gemma Cowan and Graeme Loarridge; leading partners James Bergstrom, Nick Rogers and Joanne Huckle; next generation partner Emma Sutherland; and key lawyers Bradley Kruger and Jessica Crawford. Leading partner Justin Savage "is a fantastic person to have on your side". "Thoughtful and knowledgeable, we find his expertise to be priceless." Next generation partner Tim Cone and key lawyers Catherine Collins and Laura Sephton "are the best in class regarding investment funds in the Cayman Islands." While leading partner Giorgio Subiotto "is a clear leader in the field".

The Dispute Resolution team is "the premier Cayman practice for complex, high value disputes. They have a wealth of experience and first class, hands-on partners."

Gemma Bellfield and leading partner Marc Kish are "both excellent attorneys" who "are extremely commercial." Key lawyer Shaun Maloney "is a pragmatist. He cuts through thorny issues and gets to the heart of disputes." Christopher Levers is recognised as a next generation partner alongside Jennifer Fox, who "knows the local system inside and out and is a trusted advisor." Rebecca Findlay is also recognised as a key lawyer alongside Farrah Sbaiti. Clients describe Farrah as "a star, on top of the detail, a good strategist and an absolute pleasure to deal with."

Rachael Reynolds KC and Deborah Barker Roye are not only recognised as members of Ogier's Dispute Resolution team, but also for their work within Ogier’s Trusts and Private Client practice. In both areas, Rachael is ranked as a leading partner while Deborah is a next generation partner.

Ogier's top-tier Trusts and Private Client practice was called the "standout choice for high-net-worth individuals and families seeking comprehensive and personalised legal support in the Cayman Islands."

Anthony Partridge is recognised as a leading partner in the guide. Clients describe Anthony as "incredibly bright and knowledgeable" who "is also well known internationally". Gregory Haddow is recognised as "a well regarded trusts expert, and is certainly one to watch." Meanwhile Ben Harle and Jordan Constable are named key lawyers. Ben is praised for his "international understanding of multiple jurisdictional needs for estate planning" and Jordan is highlighted for his support.

The Banking and Finance team "is composed of very dedicated, experienced, and professional people. They always give us the best support along with the most diligent attention to our needs. The team is very well prepared to handle any situation that comes their way." Legal 500 praises the team for its cross-border capabilities – this not only includes expert guidance for clients in Latin America but also a combined offering between Ogier’s Cayman and Luxembourg offices – which sets it apart from competitors.

Seven individuals are ranked in the 2025 guide for the Banking, finance and capital markets practice area – Angus Davison, James Heinicke and Mark Santangeli are all recognised as leading partners, while Bradley Kruger, Cynthia Anandajayasekeram, Tommy Tuohy, and Jasjit Grewal are key lawyers. Tommy and Jasjit are both praised for providing "exceptional service. They were responsive and mindful of providing proactive and complete advice to keep the transaction moving across opposing time zones." Laura O’Byrne is also praised for her work within the team.

Ogier’s Corporate team is recognised as “a robust choice of counsel” and praised for its strength in M&A and SPAC transactions, IPOs and joint ventures. Bradley, who is recognised as a “specialist advisor on private equity acquisitions and disposals” – is a leading partner, and Cynthia, a “highly active partner in the firm’s private equity group”, is praised as a next generation partner. Angus, James, Tommy and Laura are all named key lawyers, with Tommy and Laura providing “standout support”.

Meanwhile, Ogier's Intellectual Property team "is outstanding". Leading partner Sophie Peat and Ashleigh Robinson are praised for providing a "hands on personal approach." "They are proactive and very professional."

The Regulatory team is described as "refreshing in the industry", it "puts the client first. You see this in all their dealings". Martin Byers is "top of his profession. Really strong at getting to the crux of the issue providing sound legal advice in a balanced and commercial way." Legal 500 also praises leading partner Joanne Huckle as well as James Heinicke, Jennifer Fox, Cline Glidden and Megan Mcluskie who “stands out in the private wealth regulatory space”.

Cline is also recognised as a leading associate for his work within Ogier's Real Estate practice, which is headed by James Bergstrom and expanded in May with the appointment of Jon Hughes. "The Ogier brand and reputation is strong however their main advantage is Cline Glidden whose connections in the industry and outside are extremely valuable in getting deals across the line."
