Ogier "head and shoulders above the competition" in Chambers UK 2020

Ogier has seen a strong performance in the Chambers UK directory, with the firm's corporate and finance, property, and trusts practices in Jersey all ranked top tier.

The top-tier Jersey corporate and finance teams are described as "head and shoulders above the competition", with Katrina Edge, Matthew Shaxson, Raulin Amy, Richard Daggett and Simon Dinning all ranked, the joint highest number of ranked practitioners in this service line Jersey. In Guernsey the corporate, finance and funds teams are described as "the model of how a law firm should be run", with another client saying "everything is high quality and they never let us down." Craig Cordle and Bryon Rees are ranked.

The firm's dispute resolution team in Guernsey is described as "really good…especially on the corporate insolvency side", Simon Davies is one of only four top tier practitioners in the jurisdiction and Mathew Newman is ranked. The Jersey team is "professional and responsive" and "knows Jersey inside out". Global Managing Partner Edward Mackereth is one of only three eminent practitioners in the Island, and Nick Williams and Damian Evans are ranked.

Ogier's Jersey property team remains in a league of its own as the only team to be ranked tier one in the jurisdiction. The team is praised for its "excellent knowledge of the intricacies of the local market" and is "a pleasure to deal with". It has the highest number of ranked individuals in Jersey. Ranked practitioners include Chris Renouf, who has Senior Statesperson status, Jonathan Hughes, who is Band 1, Julie Melia, who is Band 1, and Katharine Marshall. In Guernsey the team is described as "commercial and there to get the job done", with Martyn Baudains ranked.

Ogier has the highest number of ranked individuals in Employment in Jersey, with Helen Ruelle an eminent practitioner and Will Austin-Vautier an Associate to Watch, while the Jersey funds team is praised for its "depth of knowledge and approachability" and is "focused and solutions-driven", with Emily Haithwaite and Niamh Lalor both ranked.

The Guernsey trusts team is "a powerhouse" providing "invaluable advice on high value matters" with Gavin Ferguson and Alice Bricogne both ranked. The Jersey team remains top tier with the highest number of ranked individuals and has a "deep bench of highly experienced lawyers". Steve Meiklejohn is a star individual, and Sally Edwards remains in band 1. James Campbell, Katherine Neal and Josephine Howe are all ranked.
