Jersey
Ogier recently welcomed A Level art students from Hautlieu school to their Jersey offices for a unique viewing of the art exhibition the firm hosted in conjunction with London fine art experts Gladwell & Patterson.
The students heard talks from Gladwell and Patterson's Cory Fuller, and sculptor Simon Gudgeon whose work was on display in the exhibition.
The students learned about the historical and technical background of the post-impressionist art exhibited, and the techniques used to create the sculptures on display.
This was the third public art exhibition that Ogier has hosted in partnership with Gladwell & Patterson, and the first workshop Ogier has hosted specifically for local students as part of its education-focussed global CSR programme.
Simon Dinning, Partner at Ogier, said: "We are delighted to have provided this opportunity to local students to not only see the stunning art we are exhibiting with Gladwell & Patterson, but also to enable them to hear expert commentary from one of the exhibition's curators and from the sculptor whose works the students could see.
"We hope that this unique learning experience will inspire the students in their art at school and beyond."
Robert Allen, Teacher of Art at Hautlieu School said:
"This was a wonderful opportunity for our Year 13 students to see artwork of such high quality. They were engrossed in so many aspects of the artworks on show and relished the opportunity to be able to interact so intimately with the paintings and sculptures without any barriers like you would have at art galleries.
"It was also an excellent chance to hear from the gallery representative and artist who gave great insights into life after A levels."
