Litigation and restructuring and insolvency specialist Sarah Thompson has joined Ogier's BVI team as a partner.

Sarah's arrival continues the expansion of Ogier's BVI Dispute Resolution capability to meet market demand. In particular, the fields of insolvency and cryptocurrency and virtual asset related disputes, where among the team's high profile work is acting for the liquidators of the Singapore-based cryptocurrency hedge fund Three Arrows Capital.

A member of INSOL and the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association of the Cayman Islands and BVI (RISA), Sarah began her legal career at Linklaters and has a background spanning industry experience at a leading global investment bank and alternative investment manager.

She moved to the BVI seven years ago and brings particular expertise in hedge fund and private equity disputes within a broad dispute resolution practice spanning complex high-value, multi-jurisdictional corporate and commercial and financial disputes involving shareholder disputes, civil fraud and asset tracing, enforcement and trusts litigation.

Head of BVI Dispute Resolution Brian Lacy said: "We are delighted to welcome Sarah, who has built a well-deserved reputation as one of the finest insolvency and fraud litigators in the jurisdiction, to the team.

"The past year has been another busy period of continued growth for the top-tier Ogier BVI litigation and insolvency team, with a number of experienced lawyers joining us at all levels.

"As well as Sarah Thompson, new to our team this year are partner Jo Collette in Hong Kong, counsel Tina Asgarian in our Dubai office, senior associate Carl Moran, associate Craig Johnson, and rising star chancery barrister Holly Challenger in the BVI office."
