Ogier’s global head of Private Wealth Matt Guthrie named in eprivateclient 2025 50 Most Influential

Global head of Private Wealth for Ogier, partner Matt Guthrie, has been recognised as a key player in the UK and offshore private client sector by eprivateclient in their prestigious 50 Most Influential list.

Matt’s inclusion in the definitive rankings follows a thorough judging process which considered candidates’ achievements and their impact on the profession in the past 12 months.

The list demonstrates “the breadth and depth of talent at the forefront of the private client professions today”. Those included “are the leaders when it comes to providing the best possible advice and service for clients and to driving innovation in the way the needs of wealthy individuals are met”.

This recognition adds to a growing number of accolades Matt has recently received, including Citywealth’s Channel Islands Lawyer of the Year in 2024. He has also been named the "leading technical lawyer on the island" by Chambers while Legal 500 describes him as "able to cut through to the heart of what is really important”.

As part of Ogier’s Trust Advisory Group, Matt specialises in advising high net worth families, trust companies and family offices in relation to succession planning and structuring through trusts, foundations and other vehicles.

In an award-winning year for its Trust Advisory Group, Ogier was named Contentious Trusts and Estates Team of the Year (large firm) at the prestigious STEP Private Client Awards and Offshore Law Firm of the Year at the Chambers HNW awards. The team also received top tier rankings by eprivateclient, Legal 500 and Chambers.
