Ogier Global, Ogier's corporate and fiduciary services division, has announced two significant milestones: the acquisition of an Irish fund administration licence and the appointment of Jeff Pamplin as its new head of fund administration in Ireland.

The new Irish fund administration licence marks a crucial step in enhancing our Fund Administration service to clients, providing a broader range of capabilities and a strengthened presence in the European market.  

Jeff Pamplin brings with him a wealth of experience in the funds industry, having held C-suite and Board-level positions at several established blue-chip funds firms.  

In this Q&A, we delve into Jeff’s background, his vision for Ogier Global and how the new licence will benefit our clients.  

Tell us about your background in the funds industry.  

My career in fund administration kicked off in late 1998, when I joined a hard working team of fund accountants. From that grounding in the fundamentals, I moved to the Cayman Islands where for two great years I developed my industry experience. From there, I worked with various leading fund services providers, working up to leadership roles as well as taking responsibility for strategic development at executive committee level. Overall, I have gained experience not only in the funds industry, but also in management and oversight.  

What key insights and practices do you plan to bring to Ogier Global?  

My greatest learning over my career has been built on trust, honesty and hard work – these are absolute fundamentals to building a successful team and business. There is no substitute for hard work and diligence. Combining these attributes with great people, a client focused mentality and leading technologies, you set your business up to succeed.   

Ogier already has a strong culture of service quality and excellence. Throughout my career I endeavour to build lasting relationships on trust and deliver on expectations.   

What trends are you currently seeing in the fund industry?  

We are a client service business and therefore client satisfaction is central to everything we do. The global fund administration industry has grown rapidly. There has been disruption by a multitude of acquisitions and mergers that have meant cultures have got lost and priorities have become less about service quality and more about earnings, productivity, efficiencies and less about building meaningful relationships with clients and establishing a 'can-do' positive culture. At Ogier we aim to work closely with our clients to gain a comprehensive understanding of their needs and goals. This allows us to provide tailored solutions that align with their investment strategies.  

How will the new Irish fund administration licence enhance Ogier Global's fund administration services for its clients?  

The new Irish fund administration licence will strengthen Ogier Global’s existing services and allows us to leverage our diverse team’s local expertise across major jurisdictions. Ensuring we provide comprehensive, integrated support. We also benefit with Ogier’s legal and regulatory divisions, to offer a seamless service that helps clients to navigate cross-border complexities.
