Four senior team members of Ogier's Hong Kong Dispute Resolution team have again been recognised as Asia's top offshore litigators, in a new report published this month by Asian Legal Business. Partners Oliver Payne, Justin Davis, and Michael Snape, together with Counsel Edwin Gomez have been included in the new list of Asia's top ten offshore litigators– making Ogier the firm with the most individuals featured in the list.

The list is selected based on the profile of the case, client recommendations and market feedback.

The cases mentioned in the report include the notable mandates mentioned below.

Oliver Payne acts as lead adviser to Tianrui International in long running winding up proceedings in respect of China Shanshui Cement Group.  Justin Davis is currently representing the joint liquidators of Three Arrows Capital (a crypto exchange), and playing a pivotal role in advising liquidators restructuring two BVI companies for Tsinghua Unigroup PRC.  The team is also acting on behalf of the joint liquidators of FTX, which was formerly one of the largest global cryptocurrency exchanges.  Michael Snape continues to represent dissenter, Waterwood 020, in a fair value proceedings arising from the takeover of Xiaodu (Baidu Waimai). Whilst Edwin Gomez is Cayman Islands legal counsel to FamilyMart China Holding Co., Ltd., a convenience store business, and is acting in petition proceedings in respect of China CVS (Cayman Islands) Holding Corporation.

Given the level of demand for BVI and Cayman Islands legal services from clients in Asia, Ogier's Hong Kong dispute resolution team has grown significantly over the years and continues to win awards.

Commenting on this latest recognition from Asian Legal Business, Oliver Payne, Head of Dispute Resolution in Asia, said "We are delighted to be recognised by ALB for our team's execution of key roles in some of the leading cases coming before the BVI and the Cayman Courts. Providing market-leading services to clients and keeping them at the heart of what we do remains key to our success.

It is especially rewarding to see the continued breadth of recognition from across the team through testimonials, market feedback, and respected legal industry publications such as ALB.”
