Corey Byrne named Next Gen of the Year at the 2024 RISA Cayman Awards

Restructuring and insolvency expert Corey Byrne has been named "Next Gen of the Year" in the annual peer-voted RISA Awards.

RISA (the Recovery and Insolvency Specialists Association) is the leading network for Cayman restructuring and insolvency professionals and a member of INSOL. The organisation's annual awards recognise the individuals who have made a significant contribution to the practice area within the jurisdiction.

Corey is a senior associate in Ogier's Dispute Resolution and Restructuring and Insolvency teams. He advises Cayman Islands-domiciled companies, directors, insolvency practitioners, receivers, creditors and investment funds involved in contentious and non-contentious restructuring and insolvency matters, corporate rescues, winding up petitions and formal insolvency appointments. Corey also represents corporations and individuals in high value and complex cross-border commercial litigation including enforcement of foreign judgments and arbitral awards, fraud and asset-tracing claims and disputes involving cryptocurrency and digital assets.

Corey regularly contributes to leading legal journals and publications on a broad range of topics, including corporate insolvency, corporate law and asset recovery. He is also a member of INSOL International, co-chair of RISA's social and entertainment committee, and a member of the Cayman Islands committee of the Crypto Fraud and Asset Recovery Network.
