The next generation of rising stars in our Jersey office

Ogier is a growing firm that is constantly looking for new talent to join our international family and be part of our future. We’re proud of the investment we make in new talent and training, and also of the open, friendly, team-based culture that we have built. Here, three of our team give an insight into their experience of our commitment to training and creating an environment in which everyone is encouraged and supported to reach their full potential:

Chloe Watson-Hill - Associate

I completed my law degree and postgraduate diploma in Scotland, where I also trained with Maclay Murray & Spens LLP (now Dentons). I joined Ogier in October 2017 as a newly qualified lawyer in the corporate team.

My impression of the firm and, crucially, its people, has been excellent from day one. Combined with the impressive client base and quality of work I have been exposed to in my short time with Ogier, my decision to relocate to Jersey with my husband, Paul, has been reaffirmed. I am looking forward to getting involved in an increasingly diverse range of transactions and developing my skillset with the support and encouragement of my colleagues.

Having been keen road cyclists in Edinburgh, Paul and I have thoroughly enjoyed discovering stunning new routes on the island. Out of the saddle, we are slowly working our way along the beautiful coastline and ticking off some great restaurants and coffee shops.

Royan George – Trainee Solicitor

I joined Ogier in September 2016 as a Trainee English Solicitor.  I came to Ogier from London via the British Virgin Islands (BVI) where I worked at a notable offshore law firm. Being an island boy, I jumped at the opportunity to leave the city skyscrapers behind to join Ogier in Jersey.

Ogier has an excellent reputation globally, a strong client base and a friendly and relaxed working environment. No two days at Ogier are the same as I am always being given the opportunity to learn. I have been able to work on a diverse range of transactions across teams. During my corporate seat, I assisted one of the Partners, a Managing Associate and a Senior Associate with a historic billion-dollar London property transaction.

At Ogier there’s always an opportunity for fun and to get active whether through the in-office sports day or by joining one of Ogier’s many sports and social teams.  I am a very keen sportsperson and have joined the cricket and softball teams.

Ogier is an excellent firm to work for and Jersey is an excellent place to be!
