The Ogier Channel Island Employment Team are hosting a three part webinar series focusing on equality in the workplace and discrimination law.
Leading experts in the field will join Helen Ruelle (Director of Local Legal Services), Rachel DeSanges (prev. Richardson - Head of Guernsey Employment) and Will Austin-Vautier (Senior Associate) to talk about topical issues relating to discrimination.
The second in this series will address a topic that has been at the forefront of many discussions in 2020 about discrimination, diversity and inclusion.
The 'Black Lives Matter' movement has inspired a renewed commitment to equality and addressing race discrimination in the workplace. This brings with it potentially an increase in the number of race discrimination claims and a number of challenges for employers.
We have invited Tariq Sadiq (Parklane Plowden Chambers) to talk from a legal perspective about the important issues for businesses in Jersey and Guernsey relating to unconscious bias and race discrimination complaints. Tariq is a Barrister practicing in Employment, Public Law and Sports cases. Tariq's recent article highlights some important issues for businesses in Jersey and Guernsey to consider, including in relation to dealing with discriminatory conduct and staff complaints.
