Ogier launch Index Ventures €150m Fund

Ogier has acted as Jersey legal adviser and Ogier Fund Services has been appointed to provide administration services in relation to the latest Index Ventures Fund, Index Ventures Life VI.

Life VI is Index Ventures' first fund solely dedicated to making investments in the life sciences sector. This €150m fund includes investments from several of Index's largest existing limited partners and the two global pharmaceutical companies, GlaxoSmithKline (GSK) and the venture capital affiliate of the Janssen pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson (Janssen).

Managing Associate, Sinéad Meehan led the Ogier Jersey legal team assisted by Senior Associate Lauren Fletcher and trainee solicitor Jennifer Grigg.  The Ogier Fund Services team comprised of Jane Pearce, Tamara Williams, Carly Vardon and Sarah Earles.  The team were very pleased to work on the transaction and assist with closing the new fund.

Since inception Index Ventures has raised five early stage funds and two growth funds investing in later stage companies, most recently raising its biggest and second fund to date Index Growth II in November 2011 for €500 million.
