Ogier has provided Guernsey legal advice to Burford Capital Limited (Burford Capital) on the private offering of US$400 million aggregate principal senior notes by its wholly owned subsidiary, Burford Capital Global Finance LLC.
The 6.25% senior notes due 2028 are guaranteed on a senior unsecured basis by Burford Capital as well as Burford Capital Finance LLC and Burford Capital PLC.
Partner Bryon Rees, who led the Ogier team, commented: "Following on quickly from Burford Capital becoming the first legal finance firm to be publicly traded in the United States and the first dual-listed company in the legal finance industry, we are delighted to support on another successful Burford transaction. The Ogier team also included managing associate Michelle Watson Bunn and trainee Tehya Morgan, working with lead counsel in the United States Cravath, Swaine and Moore LLP, Burford Capital's English counsel, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer LLP, and White & Case LLP for the initial purchasers.
