Ogier advises Taiwan Color Optics and Semilux on business combination with Chenghe

Ogier's Corporate team in Hong Kong acted as Cayman Islands counsel to Taiwan Color Optics Inc and their newly formed holding company, Semilux International Ltd, on a business combination with Chenghe Acquisition Co, a special purpose acquisition company (SPAC).

Taiwan Color Optics Inc (TCO) is a Taiwan-based provider of LiDAR and ADB components and solutions, and Semilux is a Cayman Islands exempted company with limited liability, which aims to advance LiDAR and ADB technologies for the autonomous vehicle market.

The business combination closed on 15 February and the ordinary shares of Semilux commenced trading on the Nasdaq Capital Market under the ticker symbol SELX on 16 February 2024. 

Ogier's team was led by partner Florence Chan with support from the firm’s global head of Corporate, Nathan Powell, and legal manager Anna Cheung.
