Ogier advises Ardonagh on investment from Stone Point Capital, valuing the group at US$14 billion

Ogier's top-tier Jersey and Cayman Corporate teams advised the Ardonagh Group on its agreement for an equity investment from funds managed by Stone Point Capital LLC, valuing Ardonagh at US$14 billion.

The Ogier team was a cross-border collaboration between its Jersey and Cayman teams. The team was led by partners Oliver Richardson and Richard Bennett, with managing associates Kevin Grové and Hannah Diss, and associate Lara Morand also assisting on the transaction. The teams worked alongside Herbert Smith Freehills advising Ardonagh and Paul Weiss who are advising the Ardonagh Group and its shareholders, including Madison Dearborn Partners and HPS Investment Partners.

Ardonagh is one of the world’s largest independent insurance distribution platforms and a top 20 global broker.

Completion is expected to take place in mid-2025, at which point Stone Point will become a significant shareholder in Ardonagh alongside existing shareholders, as well as co-investors including a wholly owned subsidiary of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and several other global institutions.
