Strong praise for Ogier's "very switched on" and "high quality" BVI team

Ogier's BVI team has been highly praised in the independent Chambers and Partners Global directory as a "slick operation" with a "very international outlook".

The directory named three of the firm's BVI partners as notable practitioners, highlighting the reputations of practice partner Ray Wearmouth ("a fantastic lawyer"), Head of Dispute Resolution Brian Lacy ("extremely well prepared, knowledgeable and very creative") and corporate partner Michael Killourhy ("focuses on getting the job done, and not bogging us down in technicalities").

Client feedback for the BVI office has reflected the corporate team's ability to "get the work done quickly and to a high quality" and the dispute resolution team's reputation as "a slick operation: they're nice people who are easy to work with, very switched-on and with a good grasp of the law".

The firm, which marks its tenth anniversary in BVI this year, has four partners in the BVI – in addition to 11 other BVI-qualified partners in its Hong Kong, Jersey and Guernsey offices, offering BVI law advice around the clock.

Ray Wearmouth, described by Chambers as "one of the most experienced practitioners operating in the jurisdiction", said: "This kind of recognition underlines both the strength of our BVI team and the hard work that they put in.

“We're delighted with the feedback for the individuals recognised by Chambers Global, which is also a credit to the work of our strong team of associates."

Chambers Global undertakes thorough research and analysis of local law firms and seeks extensive client and industry feedback to determine their results.
